maap is an independent design project founded by Mónica Pereira and Nuno Magro, based in Lisbon, Portugal.
After working in several design studios and agencies for over 15 years, we believed that it was time to put this amazing experience to work. Thus, in 2012, maap was born. |

Mónica Pereira
client & project management  Born in 1975, Mónica Pereira studied Sociology at Universidade Lusófona, Lisbon. She worked as an account manager for RMAC and BLUG. Later on, as account director, she worked for Labdesign and Dasein studios. During these years she managed several national and international brands and projects for SONAE, NAV Portugal, Media Capital, Grupo Andrade Gutierrez, COSEC, Parque EXPO, Portugália Restauração, Siemens, Grupo Sumol+Compal, Grupo Tempus, CMOeiras, Grupo Visabeira, Goethe-Institut, EUNIC Portugal, Istituto Italiano di Cultura and Banco Caixa Geral Totta de Angola. Nuno Magro
senior designer & creative director
 Nuno Magro was born in 1975, Lisbon, and is a senior graphic designer with a Communication Design degree from Lisbon's Faculty of Fine Arts. He worked for several design agencies and studios like RMAC, BLUG, 37, Lowe, White and Grupo Visabeira. Along these years he developed a vast experience in editorial design, branding and print production, working for several national and international brands and projects like CMOeiras, Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, Grupo José de Mello, BP, GALP, Mota-Engil, JABA Recordati, Solvay, Grupo Sumol+Compal, The Navigator Company, Inacopia, SONAE, Teatro Nacional São Carlos, Vista Alegre, Grupo Visabeira, Goethe-Institut, EUNIC Portugal, Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Grupo BPI and Banco Caixa Geral Totta de Angola. He also worked as a creative director, managing design teams, along with project management and production flow. In 2012 he joined Mónica Pereira and started maap.
